A fire tore through a Louisiana mobile home early Christmas morning, killing three young siblings and injuring their father and mother.
The state Fire Marshal's Office said that a 12-year-old girl, a 13-year-old boy and a 9-year-old boy died in the fire at the Whispering Oaks Trailer Park, in Houma, La., NBC affiliate WDSU reported.
The fire started after midnight Tuesday, authorities said.
WDSU reported that the children's father rescued one child, who survived, but was unable to reach the three children who died in the blaze.
The father and mother were taken to a burn unit in Baton Rouge for treatment. The children and their parents were from Alabama visiting family, houmatoday.com reported.
Five other children and two adults were also in the home and were not injured.
Investigators have yet to determine the cause of the fire. The mobile home was a total loss. A minivan and an SUV parked in the home's driveway sustained major damage.
