The problem with your argument is the same as all of the rest.

You want to compare us with Australia or Great Britain like it's apples to apples, when in reality it more like apples to hub caps, you throw out useless information and then try and discount somebody else's researched input because you have no real support to back up your propaganda.

Let's see here,

Australia has a land mass of 7.68 million sq kilometers with an overall population of 24 million people, this gives a potential population density of 3.125 persons per sq km.

The United States on the other hand has a land mass of 9.6 million sq kilometers with an overall population of 312 million, this gives a population density 32.5 persons per sq km.

While Great Britain and Wales have a land mass of 244,820 sq km with an overall population of 60 million, this gives a population density of 248.9 persons per sq km.

In 2011in the United States Violent crimes accounted for 386 per 100000 and murders were at 4.7 per 100000

In Great Britain and Wales they have a violent crime rate 3.5 times greater than the United States which is at 1361 per 100000.

Though they have a lower murder rate which is at 1.3 which is about 3.5 times lower than ours we have a population almost 6 times larger than theirs.

In your coveted Australia we find that violent crime is at 840 per 100000 while the murder rate is 1.3 per 100000. Looking at the numbers you'll notice that Australia's violent crime is actually high in relation to its population density.

Gonna have to say, the information I am seeing is that firearms in the hands of the Citizens is essential to reducing violent crime, and with the murder rates continuing to fall it would seem that firearms are relevant in those numbers as well.

An armed society is a polite society.

The point here is this, you cannot compare us to other Countries, nothing is similar between the United States and the other Nations of the World, we are vastly different .
