5:06AM EST November 7. 2012 - Dallas Cowboys owner and general manager Jerry Jones is so all over the map, it's no wonder the franchise is in its current dilapidated state.
Consider: Jones, who has served as GM since buying the Cowboys in 1989, just told NBC's Bob Costas in an interview Sunday night that Jones the owner would've already fired Jones the GM for the team's years of hardship.

Not that we took him seriously, but still he said it.
But on Tuesday, Jones, 70, made it clear that Cowboys fans will be stuck with him as GM so long as he owns the team.
"We are not structured that way," Jones told KRLD-FM, via ESPN.com. "We didn't structure it that way with my ownership. There's no way that I would be involved here and not be the final decision-maker on something as important as players, and that is a key area. That's never been anybody's misunderstanding. It's been a debated thing, but it's just not going to happen."
OVERRATED: Who players think is NFL's most overrated coach
We feel now is a good time to remind you, Cowboys fans, that your team currently is in a downward spiral at 3-5, has a sub-.500 record since 1997 (123-124), and has won just two playoff games since winning Super Bowl XXX nearly 17 years ago.
Dallas also has made some questionable trades, most notoriously acquiring wide receiver Roy Williams from the Detroit Lions in 2008 for three draft picks, including two first rounders.
And let's not even get into Jones' knack for making unwanted headlines (see: 2012 training camp).

But, hey, the structure proved successful 17 years ago, and if it ain't broke ... wait, it's broke.
"We've had success doing it this way," Jones said, "and we're going to have success in the future doing it this way."
So, Cowboys fans, does Jones get a free pass for winning three Super Bowls in four years in the early '90s? Or would you rather see some changes in the front office?
