Tyson Makes Offer for Hillshire Brands

Tyson Foods Inc. offered $6.1 billion to buy Hillshire Brands Co., setting up a battle between meatpacking heavyweights for the maker of Jimmy Dean sausage and Ball Park hot dogs.
